It looks amazing!

What didn't make it to the books for you?

Too dry and the buttercream just didn't have a great taste.  I'm sure both of those could be remedied, but the Dane isn't big on baked fruit as it is and I don't have the energy to fiddle with recipes a couple of times before they are right.

Honestly, it would make a better loaf or muffins with the moisture issue resolved.

Doggy spa day. Which means I am about to spend the next three hours struggling with a wet creature who hates a bath, hates the brush and the and clippers, and will do her utmost to wrest herself free of the terrible human attempting to murder her.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Sounds exactly like our dog. Grooming/bathing/brushing is a 1 person operation without scratches only if you're very careful. When the clippers come out, it's a 2 person operation and if he gets ahold of one of your fingers between his teeth, he's going for bone. He's a very nice, happy, gentle dog outside of those conditions.

My old dog bit near straight through my dad's hand when he tried to brush her.  No one attempted since and we would just shave her down periodically.

This is part of the reason that I'm on team no pets.  Way too much extra work.

The internet can't possibly compete with this kind of store. Because whenever s hillbilly sees beef jerky, he must eat beef jerky right there and then. They can't wait for internet delivery...

The beef jerky store is good. They encourage samples. I don't know how they will stay open in the Mall way too much riff raff that goes in there.

I was planning on making a Tourtiere AND an apple pie tonight and have a North American dinner or something... maybe with roasted potatoes on the side...

This dog is the one we inherited. A Yorkie, blue and gold, and she really has got a wonderful coat. For five minutes after you get her done. She has a lot of feathers though, and every time she hits the yard she drags something in on her. I've been gradually shortening the length all year.  To complicate this particular spa day, she has had that as yet unnamed rash and she doesn't want you near the spots.  She didn't actually bite me, but she did close her teeth over my hand a couple of times.

Pity the MIL didn't go for a beagle, or something shorthaired.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
