Well, it was a relativistic measurement I was going for.  You can't really compare children from different families or different sizes.  My kids are totally late on every milestone by far except this one. 🤣   In defense of the oldest one, I'm still not entirely convinced she isn't on the spectrum.

 

Now, the late potty training on the other hand is going to kill me.  Tell me how an almost 3.5 year old can't tell that he needs to poop, has no idea that he has pooped, and has absolutely no tells?

You know, come to think of it, the little turtle was potty trained much faster than the older one, liked by 6-12 months!

I asked my mom how old I was, and surprise surprise, she didn't know. Duh, the nanny did it.

Potty training is one of those things kids can control. at 3.5 he knows what he's doing and just doesn't care. 

Are you using thick undies? Have you tried letting him stay naked?

How far from where he plays is the potty?

Some kids are afraid of missing out of things when the potty is in another room.

Does he pee in the potty and it's just poop that is the issue?

We could try naked. I have more success when he doesn’t wear pants. Normal undies for the most part. 

 

He has no idea when he needs to pee, I just make him sit periodically and he will go. If I don’t make him sit, he won’t do it. Sometimes the potty is right next to him. Can’t be bribed, cares not about any reward. 

 

I don’t think he knows he has pooped. He will insist to me he hasn’t or it is just pee unless he sees it or touches it.  It is a large amount so I don’t get it. 

 

My oldest trained at I think 3 y 3m and he is 3 y and almost 5m. Both very stubborn and strong willed. I suspect that attempted nakedness might lead to a day long temper tantrum about his lack of pants.

It's cool enough to open the house up. I had to fix the screen on the from door and now the back door. Dang cat keeps trying to get out and messes my screens up.
