NYC, where you can't smoke a cigarette without having someone try to bum one from you (and you have to learn to say no). 

 

Where they tell you that you can't smoke here, and there, but it's ok to smoke pot anywhere and anytime. 

 

Where they ban vaping, but put hypodermic receptacles in the parks for junkies (which they never use).

 

Where the government boycotts staples because they sell paper to ICE.

Himself mumbles aloud when trying to work out how something needs mending.  It seems that a question I ask takes a while to process. So in one ear, where my query circles around for a bit, and then comes the answer. This can take a few minutes.  It was confusing at first, because he also has tinnitus and quite a bit of hearing loss. So it's hard to know if he is processing, or didn't hear me at all.

I'm the sort to do things for myself. I suppose it comes from being single for years and years and having no option really.  As it turns out it is probably just as well. 

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Point out where all the fun dates are -- birthdays, end of skool, etc., huh man?

Make a game of X-ing out bygone dates, perhaps in different colors, huh man?

Nail it to her wall instead of using on desktop, huh man?

Label all the days for which one should order a POTS, huh man?

I just threw away the calendar, and the last 2 books that I bought her, that she also said she doesn't want.

Hopefully she'll learn a lesson about talking things for granted. Not appreciating what she has.
