Which is why neither of you live in Minnesota. We try and push the tax haters towards ND, where they can complain about the lack of free school buses.  Wonder why that is, with the low taxes and such.

My mother has a mindset like you two, I think it is a Boomer thing. 😂

If we can't save for retirement and pay taxes, we are doing something wrong. It would also be rather unethical to get out of paying back in what we've taken out.

TD bank...

Emailed me, damage control...

Says "I'm sorry I'm backed up from the holidays, I'll give you a call by the end of the day".

To save an account where the daily balance is over 200k? And 7 figures cycle thru it annually? They'll gimme a call "by the end of the day"?

I think by the end of the day, Capital One commercial will have transferred the money out...

They finally have the MN income tax info out for this year. Seems like for the first time since having kids, I/we will be paying state income tax! I know that being excited is counterintuitive, but it means that we are ever closer to the tipping point of giving back to the system versus taking in.

I looked at the NC state taxes this year since this is the first year I have had to do NC state taxes since 2011 and they changed the tax system for the state since then.

Originally it was you can claim all your kids on your income taxes which is fine, what the state passed a couple years ago is that you if you have 2 kids then you only claim 1 child for income taxes taken out of paycheck. Since I have 4 rugrats I can only claim Married and 2 on my pay check. Which what I was led to believe is that "you would get the rest of it back at tax time". Well I am coming to find out that that sentiment/saying is a load of hogwash. I will ONLY get back $800 after getting $2700 taking out of my pay for the year in regards to state income taxes.

I was paying less state taxes in freaking California than I am here in NC.

So it's been raining since yesterday here in NC for the backstory. I go to get in my Tahoe this morning and there is water leaking out of where the OnStar and lights are.

So at work I was researching the issue and at lunch time I go to examine it even further. I found out after examining my satellite antenna and the surrounding car roof that there is a bullet hole in my roof that did not puncture inside.

So what I think happened is that during the NYE celebrations and someone firing off a gun somewhere a bullet came down and hit my car. I needed a quick fix so I talked to my division chief who said it's ok if I had a longer lunch. So I went to Home Depot and got some liquid sealant and sealed up the hole so no more rain getting inside.

You know what this is all about?

A simple business correspondence.

2 most valuable things that I've learned about business.

1- you can have a client for decades, but if you piss him off once, you'll never see him again.

2- control your real estate.

I put those 2 things at 50% of the equation...
