They finally have the MN income tax info out for this year. Seems like for the first time since having kids, I/we will be paying state income tax! I know that being excited is counterintuitive, but it means that we are ever closer to the tipping point of giving back to the system versus taking in.

 Minnesota is consistently in the top 5 most taxed states. I don't mind paying it, because our state services are great. I wouldn't be surprised if either us or CA is first on universal healthcare and I'm hoping that we will get higher income brackets (and premiums) for subsidized healthcare this year.
