I only do little mince pies, and I did those up yesterday afternoon. I only made a dozen, thinking that would be enough to get us into the new year. Himself has had 5 already.  He must be in his second childhood, rattling things under the tree and carrying on in general. 

 

I spoke to my flatmate last night, in AKL. She was out of the hospital long enough to go to her sister's funeral, but had another fall the next week and is incarcerated for the holidays again. She has been complaining all week about hip pain, so some bright spark checked it out yesterday. She has a fractured hip, stable, so no surgery.  They won't release her for at least a few weeks. I've sent her some Christmas flowers, and some chocolate, which arrived in good shape for a change.

She says she's not unhappy to be in the hospital this year, Without her sister, there is no Christmas lunch or any other event. She would have been home on her own. "At least there are people around me here".

 

I haven't got to go out again, everything is wrapped and under our little tree. The roast beast has thawed nicely, and everything else is ready to go. I am watching a Child's Christmas in Wales this evening, perhaps if there's time, the old black and white Christmas Carol with Alastair Sims as Scrooge. I wish you all a Happy Christmas.

I digress...my wife invited a hundred people to the house again for what was supposed to be a quiet Christmas Eve. 

She's invites her friends sister in law, and that woman brings s kid whom I don't know, then that kid's mother shows up, I don't know her either. That kid, about 10 years old, in my house, tells another kid guest to "shut up". So, I give her the Christmas speech. And when that girls mother showed up, she told her mom that I'm mean lol.

Ok, good, don't stay, don't eat, don't come back...(But she ate here)

I'm not having a stranger kid insult my guest's son in my house on Christmas Eve...

She has had such a rough time lately. I'm glad she will be in the hospital for a little while maybe she can heal a bit better this time. Sad that she only has the nurses to keep her company this year.

When I get a farm, I will certainly have some goats.  They're good at eating things that other animals don't want.  Like the weeds a horse won't touch.
