We send Mrs. T-B. & Mini-B. slumming on their visit to Nueva York on Sat., bye she & wee man.

The whole purpose of said trip was so that Mini-B. could see snow, see Fat Water wee man.

Of course, none is in the forecast all week, snow-job man.

On the bright side, there are rubias in our forecast, glee man.

In sad news, one of my childhood friends died today from cancer. She had been fighting for years, but it was a bad prognosis from the onset.

Remember how last week I replaced my headlight? The other side went out today and my mother says to me "oh I didn't know you could get in right away to the mechanic to get it replaced". She also seems to be under the impression, like the Dane, that one doesn't replace one's own headlights.  She is in her late 60s and claimed to me today that she's only once ever in her life, driving many miles a day for work, had a headlight go out. 

 

And she yet again today implied that ovarian cancer was the result of sleeping around.  Wrong cancer and just wrong wrong wrong and highly insensitive.

 

 

 

 

1- Back when she was younger, your dad probably replaced many of those old style headlights without bothering telling her. They went out all the time. 

 

2- In my last few cars, I've not had to replace any light bulbs. 

 

3- May be she thinks you're sleeping around, so she said that to get you to stop sleeping around....

So here's the part where y'all can line up & say we told you so......

Lawyer has cost us time, they've messed up on putting the financial support information form together for us, when my other half emailed them yesterday morning to highlight the mistakes & request the necessary ammendments, of course he recieved the obligatory "GO AWAY WE'RE HAVING OUR CHRISTMAS OFFICE PARTY"/out of office for Christmas holidays response.............we cold have had this all done & moving along. We're otherwise ready to schedule my appointments in London but can't until this is all sorted out.

Not best pleased at the situation, at the start of this we thought getting a lawyer on board would help us navigate the process.....didn't know this place & it's wealth of knowledge & helpful, supportive folks....ah well, live & learn eh

I had a call from New England today at work.  A vet office wanted history on a dog of ours.  She happened to belong to a dead employee (one that had committed suicide this year.)  We had sent all the records with his sister and mother.  Took me a minute to not start crying. I inactivated his still active file while writing this note: Asa is deceased.  Sent records of Arizona to XX vet office.

Is it me or was this year 2018 just full of pretty bad diagnoses, deaths, and other fairly bad experiences? I mean I get it...not all day everyday was bad

but from what I experienced, many people got really sick this year 

makes me sad!

That must have hit hard. At the very least, he'd be happy to know that his dog is being well taken care of.

I hope so.

 

It's been a hard year for a lot of people, you including I think.  I hope 2019 is a bit easier on everyone, but I get the feeling it won't be.

Maybe, maybe not. 

 

Just found out yesterday that we'll be starting the oldest's phase 2 braces in 2019.  Just under $5000.

 

She's getting brackets to pull out her molars, then a Mara device, then top and bottom braces. They are hoping to get her jaw to grow before puberty ends.
