Okay....so I have been absent for a few weeks.....my MIL died three weeks ago and my husband is in Algeria

This has been rough.....I could not afford for both of us to fly to Algeria on such short notice. So he is there alone. And I feel so very guilty and horrible that I couldn’t be there.....

But we have been having this ongoing argument regarding when he comes back to the US.....he arrives in Chicago and since he has his green card he goes to the left (to the kiosks) and not to the right (which is visas). Ugh. I know I’m right on this one.....I’ve just had very little sleep and it seems like such a stupid question to take to the main forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. It's a miserable time of the year as it is :( You've done the best you can by getting your Husband home, it is good that he could go at least.

A lot of airport queues have people that walk along them and check where you ought to be going. If he is in the wrong one, they will just redirect him.  It isn't a big deal, although I do understand how a little thing like this can be a big worry.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I am sorry. :(  I understand how hard it is to not be with a loved one when family passes away.  My husband's Nana passed while I was in Canada and I didn't even have a passport to try to go to him.

You are correct, he will go to the USC/LPR line not the visa line.

I put our little Christmas trees up today. One is a four-foot green fake, and I managed to get 200 mini lights on it. Who knew, I'd married a nutter... he wants them to flash! Oh no sweetie, at least not in my lifetime.   Christmas tree lights do not blink. Ever.

The other is our original, one of those Charlie Brown trees, complete with the blankie.

I've tried several of those pine sprays and candles to see if any of them actually has the scent of a cut fir tree, but no.  I've given up and am into the Guinness. Whatever

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

So my niece ended up in the hospital with pneumonia.  She was on O2 for 5 days and then released on day 8.  Went home and several days later had a seizure.  My mom convinced my brother and SIL to meet an ambulance on the drive (it's 45 mins plus to the hospital if you drive yourself.)  I guess she almost died when they took her down with pneumonia.   She had a CAT scan and there was no swelling on the brain so it wasn't a febrile seizure.  Found out yesterday she was diagnosed with epilepsy.  Poor girl.

Hubs didn't want to go to my work Christmas party.  I was going to go alone but the joy was sucked out of the day and he was being a bit of a annoyance about it all.  Like you can tell when someone doesn't want you to do something but doesn't want to say please don't do this thing.  I don't get what the big deal was but it was a big deal.  Apparently the food wasn't that great, there were a bunch of drunk people, and likely I wouldn't have had fun anyhow but I had to have conversations I didn't enjoy at all to get the truth out. UGH

So far the weekend has sucked.. on the plus side, since I need a plus side, my camera performed fantastically at the doggy and cat photos I took on Saturday at work.
