Exactly what I was thinking as well. My wife not wants to bomb the house just in case there are anymore bugs out there. 

 

We living/renting in a subdivision right now so we can't have chickens. If we did have chickens then our neighbors dog would more than likely eat them. But since my wife grew up out in the provinces of the Philippines we chickens running around we have decided that we want chickens as well. We would like to have some free roaming chickens when we buy a house later on next year.

Darn ticks would probably survive. 

 

At times I would love to free range my chickens. Then I remember all the predators out there. Right now we live in the city so no free ranging allowed. Since I have built the Fort Knox of chicken coop and run. I don't worry about about the nasty coons and Hawks. I added a playground for them since I sort of kind of keep getting more chickens. This way they can spread out more. The playground is not secure so they only get to be there when we are home. We do have a few Hawks to like to watch the chickens but they know the netting is there so they leave them alone. My chickens are spoiled :)

We had the check up this afternoon and it looks like we got it early. The doctor prescribed the hardest thing he could for it and it looks.like.it's working so far. She is feeling better right now as and that's what counts.

Last night, we sneaked to bed (again at Many a.m.) without going through cat's routine*, uh-oh man.

 

*serve treats, play Fuzzy Ball, brush

 

Cat was all over us in bed the whole night, insistent miu man.

On floor when we awoke were 2 wrappers and 2 fuzzy balls, point made by miu man.

Do not disrupt the expectations of expectant felines, no man!

What was funny is our pediatrician had a student doctor there so my daughter was the test case for him to see the symptoms and signs of RMSF since it is endemic for the state we live in. But my daughter was walking around a hell of a lot better when I picked her up yesterday to go to the appointment, so I knew she was doing better when I first saw her.

So glad she's doing better. That student will be one more doctor who will know what to look for early.
