It's like we're all living in parallel universes. La Colombiana passed her national CNA written certification exam last weekend which qualified her to take the skills test, but the only available testing site and timeslot prior to the expiration of her certification was a 5 hour drive away in Silver City, NM, yesterday. I feel solidarity with the Dane in volunteering for driving duties. Luckily the drive was through some pretty cool scenery although LC was pretty freaked out at one point where we had to drive through 6 inches of loose snow atop a mountain pass. Also, luckily she passed the skills test which otherwise would have meant re-taking 2 semesters of classes.

 

Anyways, congratulations Nola.

Congrats to your wife too. CNA might be in my future as well. One of the nearby hospitals requires EMTs and paramedics to get CNA certs. They do a lot of work inside the hospital. It doesn’t make much sense to me because there is a 3 class bridge to LPN from medic.

He just left. Said if it was the exhaust I wouldn't smell anything when the a/c is running. I smell it year round and even if the unit is off for 3 days.

No, seriously.  Don't believe me ? you can easily replicate the odor during a test: 

1.  get some cat pee

2.  put cat pee in a crockpot. 

3.  cook the cat pee for 6 hours then 

4.  study the smell. 

 

It will be exactly the same smell, as from under your house.

I know what cat pee smells like. This smell is not from under my house, it's exhaust. It comes from the unit itself. If the smell was from under my house it would be in every room not just the one room. The only room that fills with exhaust is the room next to the unit.
