Is the leak inside your house?  As a teen, I had gotten carbon monoxide poisoning from a slow leak in our house.  😔  Our hard-wired CO detector is pretty close to our furnace and water heater and no issues yet. The natural gas seems to burn a lot cleaner than oil, though.*

 

*Aside to this, the Dane almost died recently because there was a gas leak where he was working that he and HVAC guys just attributed to recent work on lines.  It wasn't and it was leaking all day. Could have gone boom.

That is next. I told I wasn't paying for something that I've been complaining about for 2 yrs and not one person took me serious. If it is not fixed I am calling the lawyer next no if and or buts about it.

I have the CO detector next to the register. Sadly this CO detectors won't catch small leaks. They are made to catch dangerously high levels. (I just found that part out)

Our Unit is outside but the exhaust comes in the house. It should not be coming in the house. It sets off my asthma and fills that room with fumes. You can't even open the window for fresh air because the unit is under the window.  

 

Glad the Dane made it through that job.

Of course the boy's room is not all that bad today, I hope it gets nice and fumey before the guy shows up.

We, of course, have a reserved parking space outside POTS headquarters, Big Cheese we man.

However, it is usually mobbed by frantic seek-jobbers and other supplicants, understandable man.

Accordingly, we have Jeeves (or Smedley) park in a nearby high-rise garage, chauffeur they we man.

 

This garage has Many floors:  2, Many, Many, Many, Many, Many, and Many (but not Many), si & no man.

We have a game of forming ZIP Codes from the floor numbers where we are parked, numerology man.

The numbers 1 and Many (2x2x2+1) cannot possibly appear, cut out Calif. & Nueva York et al. man.

If we skip going to the office one day, that day is assigned a 0 (zero), logical man.

We wait till Friday,  match these codes to their towns, and read about the latter, educate self we man.

They do sell CO detectors that pick up even small levels.  We ended up getting one back then and it definitely picked up the small leak.  I believe it plugged into a wall outlet and displayed the number that it detected and could replay the high for the past 24 hours or something like that. I've used a similar one in this house without it picking up anything at all. The old one always had low readings when the furnace was running, but I think that might really be a function of oil being dirty vs. natural gas.

 

If we opened one of our windows, I suspect it would the same deal.  Even though our water heater vents through the old kitchen chimney, the furnace next to it has PVC pipes that run across the house and outside to vent. That is standard installation of new furnaces in this area. I thought it was weird because in previous houses, I've only seen chimney vents. Almost everyone here had their furnace replaced about 20 years ago due to a flood, so we all have pipes out the side.
