The Dane is cold.  This is because he refuses to wear a shirt to bed, it is Minnesota in the winter, and he uses this super thin $10/10 year old Ikea comforter.  His solution is that we need to turn up the heat.  Meanwhile I'm burning hot already and don't even need a blanket.

So, tonight, I tried to warm him up with my body heat.  He says, "you are just as uncomfortable as a t-shirt."  I'm not sure how to take that.

Dutch is a cold blooded git!

To my utter horror, the flatmate sent me an email last night. She's been discharged home again, after five weeks. I wasn't sure whether I ought to have tried the hospital to talk to her, I wasn't sure she'd been told her sister was in the HDU. In the end, it proved impossible. On a 34 bed ward, there is the one cordless phone. There are no phones in patient rooms at all. Every time I've called another patient has been on it.

She had two falls the same day and used her medical alarm both times. The second time she hit her head pretty hard and wasn't making sense when the ambulance arrived so they packed her up and took her in.

She sounded pretty sad. Her sister has always met her at the house when she is sent back home, tossed the sour milk and brought in new, that sort of thing, but of course, this time that could not happen. She hasn't got her dog either at this stage and didn't mention having him back, and I chickened out on that score. She says she plans on going to the funeral on Thursday if she can organize transport.

She wanted to give my name and number as a NOK, even though I am here. I don't know that is a good idea. I thought her nephew, who live in town would be a better choice.   I called her up, and let her talk for a couple of hours. It's all up a miserable situation.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Aw cdneh that's so awful for your flatmate, I hope she can get transport organised, & also get settled back home & have her dog back too.

Thanks to all for your understanding, just have to wait it out here & hope for the best. I walked with the dogs this morning, dog walks & cuddles always help....this is Bess, I rather luffs her, she's quite a handful at times but an absolute beaut of a Lurcher. I'm back in tomorrow-Mondays & Tuesdays I volunteer walking dogs in the local Greyhound Rescue, it's good for me(keeps me somewhat sane) & its good for them(they always need walkers).

I love greys to bits. My MIL had two at one stage, they were rescues from Spain. By the time I met her she only had the one, Louie, and he was a peach.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
