Adding 2 splits to my house cut the cooling bill by half.

The most our AC adds to our summer bill is around $40 and the most added to the winter bill is $110.  #horsehair_insulation

 

That is a fairly good amount for the range between -20 and 95 we get. 

The house itself isnt that big.  Its just stupidly laid out with no room to even put in a humidifier on the furnace.  We cant afford to move now either.

Is the furnace squished against a wall?  The Dane has put 3 in just in the past 2 weeks, including ours.  Definitely possible to DIY.

 

Although, it has made him now decide he also wants to learn HVAC.  He's thinking of switching over to a company that has both so he can learn.  HVAC here doesn't have a traditional apprentice/journeyman/master system - you just need to be properly bonded/insured to work in it.

Round one has been through, totally wild lightening that was constant, plenty of hail. We went into the shelter until they dropped the warning, about half an hour.  Next round due sometime between 2300 and 0200. 

I'm tired and sad, and I would really like to go to bed and pull the covers over my head. But, someone needs to be the adult in this skit, so I'll wait up until the second round has been through. 

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
