I saw someone post a $600 uber fare on FB from that storm.  All the little snowflakes were like "you can't expect her to walk x miles when it is snowing".  Yeah, you can.  

 

I don't want to defend Deblasio, but some of this is personal responsibility and egregious entitlment - in terms of planning for the weather and personal driving.  I don't expect to make it home if it snows 3-6 inches after I leave my house.  I wait for the MN DOT website to show that the road has been plowed or check on the snowplow cameras.  You don't head out before the roads are clear.

I have also been trying to ring her sister,  my go-to person when I can't raise Aud, but there has been no answer there either for a few days. Turns out her sister is also in the hospital on life support with septicemia, and not expected to survive.  I don't know if my flatmate knows this or not, I would think she hasn't been told.

 

I've got all this from a FaceBook message this evening, I am friends with Aud's great-nephew, and he thought someone had better let me know what's going on.                            I can't do anything about any of it. I can't be in two places at once.

He's a good kid. When I  first met him he was an irritating 9-year-old, visiting his Aunty A. The sort of child you wished would go home.  He is a grown man now, with two small children of his own. Time flies.

There's been nothing further, which is just as well. I've had enough bad news just this week.
