We're working on a K-1 petition, and our case is now thru NVC, at the Embassy!

Yes I got that I meant since it reached the embassy what did you guys do?

what were the steps? Did you file DS 160 before the interview when you received the case number? Medical exam? How is the process going?

good luck its almost over ❤️

File the DS-160 ASAP, really that's the first thing you guys should do. Every embassy is different (I'm dealing with the Embassy in Madrid, Spain), but usually in this order; Complete the DS-160 asap; complete the Packet 3 paperwork needed for the embassy (you will notification of this sometime shortly after your petition is sent to the embassy in the country of your fiance), and get it sent it as soon as you can, so you can get the interview scheduled. Before the interview, get the medical examination done.

Those are your basic steps. Look here on VJ for the information to the embassy/consulate in the country you are in, so as to know the proper steps, as these steps are specifically for Spain, although most embassies are very similar.

Yes, prepare the documents and read up on how to upload them.  Review the NVC guide on VJ..Congratulations on getting to this stage!  Good luck.

Can you help us to understand what documents we had to upload to nvc while completing the ds160?  Was there something that we missed?  Thanks 🙏!

Thank you so much, everyone!

I'm not really sure why you are telling her to "wait, wait, wait, wait, wait".

Girl, if you have your case number then you can go ahead and start doing the medical and DS 160. I say go for it! No reason to "wait" now unless you have to for some reason, personally.

Congrats!

you wait to be told what doctors are on the list for your country and for the medical to happen closer to the interview date as there is a travel time limits

some countries require a document from immigration to get into the medical exam

you must travel on an approved visa within 6 months of the medical exam

doing the medical now and not getting an interview for many months is not a great idea
