I have a question about this.  I accepted a promotion for a higher paying job last month in an organization for the state of Arizona government that I have had continuous employment with since 2012.  Will this affect my wife's consular interview on the affidavit of support part?  My original affidavit of support submitted back in June already had the required income.

  • It should not be problem with the fact that you is going to earn more.
  • You can give a letter of new income verification/promotion letter to your spouse to attach to your original I-864.

Why would it be a problem? If you are going to be making above the amount needed to qualify then you are fine.

I saw some horror stories on here recently of people getting new jobs with the right income requirement and still being asked for a joint sponsor.  That's all.  Just trying to tie any loose ends before the big day in October.  I am going from a gross of 37 grand per year to a gross of around 40 per year with no dependants except for my beneficiary wife.

Those were new jobs following unemployment, not just "new jobs".  A promotion or even a job change are not an issue for somebody with a solid work history and plenty of income.
