Is it for the K-Visa? All you need to do is both sign another letter stating you still intend to marry and you’re still both free to do so. Ours expires on October 4th and my interview isn’t until October 29th! 

 

Just take the letter with you to your interview!

Aah I see. I’m in the UK so it must be different with different embassy’s. Have you filled out the DS-160 yet? It looks like the 4 month extension request is before you’ve completed the DS-160? But if you’re not at that stage yet then just do what they say on the site and let them know the reasons why. Doesn’t look like too much of a problem. Good luck!

Timeline

You might need to extend the I-129f before you fill out the DS-160, I’m not entirely sure but email your embassy or the nvc  just in case. They should have a ‘contact us’ section where you can ask.
