The closing refers to "our" application.  It is hers alone.

Correct in your first statement but not about why the petitioner isn't allowed in the interview.  The primary reason is that there simply isn't room.  

 

It's also important to note that the vast majority of the decision about the visa is made BEFORE the interview.  The interview can turn in either direction but seldom turns at all.  The file is reviewed BEFORE the interview and in approvals, the interview CONFIRMS the decision already made.  There ARE some exceptions and anomalies but for the most part, that's how it is.

I don't believe so Boiler.  That's why I wrote "most of the time, those in uniform receive that credit, but I do realize that those who serve in a civil capacity also make sacrifices on our behalf."  Specifically mentioning "civil" to draw attention to those out of uniform.  It is a shameless attempt to curry favor.  

 

In light of what some have mentioned, I'm inclined to not submit the letter.  As pushbrk said, the interview is only to confirm the decision already made.  

 

Better to leave well enough alone.
