I'm just curious why there is no mention of the Potomac Service Center (YSC) in any of the "Processing Times" or "Immigration Timelines" areas of this site?  Potomac has been around for years yet there is no mention of it at all.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

That service center may have been around a long time, but it wasn't doing processing for the IR/CR-1 or K-1 that I know of.   California and Vermont were the two, then Texas would join the mix on and off.   Potomac is a new one with me.

I got the hard copy NOA2 today.  Potomac Service Center is code YSC!  If you look at Igor's List, it does show up on the pull down just not anywhere else.

It is in Arlington, Virginia.

Wait didnt you just send in your I-130? They couldn’t have approved it already?

On the Potomac Service Center - it’s always been around but iirc I seem to recall reading a post on here saying that Potomac handles non-routine cases (ie convictions, awa, etc)?

Oh I wasn't doubting you ... just saying YSC is "the new boy on the block" for processing the IR/CR-1 petitions

We were Potomac for I-130. After about 8 months we got an RFE for PSA Marriage Certificate instead of original local copy. Then they approved at about 9 months. It was the fastest one in 2017 but in 2018 seems to be one of the slower ones. It could easily fluctuate again. I think they just had transferred too many cases from the other centers there and ended up being backlogged.

I think right now California and Vermont are seldom used. Texas, Nebraska, and Potomac are the main ones.

Sorry, I meant NOA1...  Vermont handles the non-routine cases.  The timeline at Potomac is the best one for I-130s.  Our case is very routine.  No convictions or public record at all.  Only misdemeanor arrest was thrown out and expunged years ago.

Their timelines dont look too bad right now.  We were expecting 10 to 12 months so anything less will be a gift.  Since we had the RFE on the K-1 we included the PSA annulment and the new PSA marriage cert.  We were trying to think ahead.  Hopefully this one will end up with a better result!  Since the denial was my fault and the CO congratulated Rose and the kids last time, we are pretty confident this time around.

If you are trying to track your case number if it begins with YSC, you will encounter an error. Just like with asylum applications, YSC is not available for case status tracking. YSC represents the Potomac Service Center, located in Arlington, Virginia. It was actually opened to process the expected avalanche of DACA and DAPA applications from the president’s executive orders, but as those are tied up in legal battles, the Service Center has been handling some family-based applications. There is no case status tracking feature available and no processing times available.

I found this through some Google-fu.

Finally done.
