How long does the process take?

I filled out the I-130 and sent it on July 25, 2018, I got a letter on July 31, 2018 letting me know that they have received my documents. Question is how long do it take  to know if it’s been approve and for the next step to begin. Patiently waiting but just wondering so I know what other documents I need to gather together, ahave everything prepared ready to send back.

• The normal processing time is around 7-12 months, it also depends on which service center your petition gets sent too.  
  • Use this website to check https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
  • When it is outside of normal processing time, you can make inquiry.
  • Some may get lucky and get approved earlier than the normal processing time.
• Not much you can really do at this point besides continue collect and organize additional evidences (chat, receipts, tickets if you visit her/him).  You can get some tax transcripts (2017, 16, 15) so you can file I-864 and if your income level may not meet the requirement, prepare a joint-sponsor.

 

Most of the things can be done quickly once your petition gets approved and entered NVC's system.
