The Next Step after AOS?

Hi everyone, I love this forum because it's so helpful. Hopefully my question can be useful to others too.

 

My wife and I are preparing to renew her permanent resident green card and was wondering 3 things:

 

1.  Is it form I-90 or form I-1551

 

2. What is the checklist?

 

3. Do I have to notarize another copy of our marriage certificate to a more recent date, or can I use a notarized copy from last year?

I'm assuming you are a conditional resident (2 year green card) and need to apply for Removal Of Conditions (ROC). Correct?

If so, it's an I-751.

If you have a 10 year green card, it's just an I-90 to renew it.

 

Form I-551 is the green card itself. It's not something you file...it's something you receive.

Now that I think about it, I think we are required to do that.

We have to send fingerprints as well as our son?

• Two completed Form FD- 258 Fingerprint Cards for each petitioner and dependent 14 to 79 years of age

I'm not sure where you're seeing FD-258 in the guide above. I do see a reference to it in the I-751 instructions, but only in a very specific event (living abroad due to military orders or government work).

 

They will do biometrics (or possibly waive it, but prepared to do it again) for anybody aged 14-79. That's when they will collect fingerprints.

Alright sounds like I know where to start now.

 

Just need to gather up everything on the checklist and documents.

 

Can I just copy the template's intro? For Example:
