Hello ,

Any advice is appreciated, thank you! Me and my wife were married June 2018 and currently are waiting for EAD/AP and aos interview. We have a few questions on what type of documents and proof we need to have for our AOS interview, if we do have one. A short summary about our situation- We are both young 22 and 23 currently in college. We are being sponsored by my father for the AOS , which we documented. We live under the same roof with my father.  Proof we have currently are a joint bank account under both our names and updated pictures with family. We need help on what other proof we can provide for our AOS interview . I have a job but I don't have full time status so we are not elligble for benefits. I have read the guides here on visa journey on what proof we can provide, but we cant provide that much.

What other proof can we provide?

Thank you!

Joint car insurance policy? Joint cell phone account? Affidavit of your father stating you both live there...  Suspect obviously there wouldn't be much more available as in medical coverages/life insurance policies and such with both of you in school.

Maybe affidavit letters from your family and friends. And start collecting more evidence from now on so when you have the interview (probably in one year or less) you will have more stuff to add to the case. Join car insurance. Driver license showing a common address, utility bills under both names of the AOS's beneficiary name, etc.

A copy of both of your ids showing you live at the same address, is he an authorized user on your credit cards? Show bank statements that span the length of your marriage. Affidavit from your father showing he is allowing both of you to live there as well as proof he owns the house (deed), photos of you guys places and labeled.

Thank you for your response! Is my wife eligible to apply for a drivers license? If not, when can she?  And we have a joint bank account that we've been using. is it possible to have her authorize to use my credit card as well?

Yes you can add her to your credit card. Every state is different in regards to a drivers license- some you can get with a social security number some need more proof. I would look in to your states dmv requirement for a drivers license- if not then a state ID. She should definitely get one of these in my opinion- that way she doesn’t have to carry around a passport for a photo Id.

When I did my driver license in 2013 (in south FL) I had to show them my 2 year GC and of course some other evidence of residence here in Florida, like utility bill or something. You need to check with your local DMV. But if anything, at least an state ID card she should be able to get. And just a reminder again, from now on start gathering utility bills, bank statements, etc. Because you will need it for this interview and of course the next immigration steps like ROC and Citizenship later on (if she wants to become citizen in the future). The immigration journey does not stop at AOS.
