Dear all,

As a military family, our life is moving very fast again... it looks like my husband may be getting overseas orders early next year and I am going to be on those orders as a dependent, too.

Is it possible to naturalize earlier? I have just received my green card, though (August 2018) or will said green card be affected by being overseas? I heard different arguments from different people. Some say that one could naturalize earlier but I am wondering if that is a rumor. Others say that overseas orders to not affect the physical presence issue.

Any advice?

What do I do now? Do I talk to USCIS? Or to the fleet and family center?

I found this: https://www.uscis.gov/military/citizenship-family-members

Click on the "Expedited Naturalization for Spouses of Military Members ". It seems that it's possible on a case by case bases. I don't know much about this, but I have heard that spouses of military members with overseas orders shouldn't affect physical presence. But I would check with a more experienced on person on this.

I wonder who has any experience with this. Thank you for the link. I looked at it and it seems to be a case by case situation. I am curious to find out what the requirements are. However, I would assume that this may relate to security clearances etc.
