Next we learn (drum roll) how many of the 198,124 and 116,285 NB/MB sold last year.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Guess which full size Truck is the most percent built in America  and has the 2nd highest resell value of any vehicle sold in America?

F150 and Toyotas ussually sell the most.

F150 sales will go down though once the ranger becomes  a thing again.

Toyotas have always been top dog when it comes the midsize segment. They actually lost alot of market share to GM's mid size twins forcing toyota to come out with their first redesigned Tacoma in like 10 or 20 years.

Resale value is useless , unless you plan to buy a new car >5 years. Don't fall into the trap.. buy a car run it into the ground , then buy a used or dealer loaner then rinse and repeat.

pick up and SUV segments are wayy over priced for what they are. While the mini van segment is where all the value and versatility dwells. Mini vans aren't cool though.

No offense to anyone who owns one, but in spite of the F-150s popularity in America (and the WORLD... it is the highest-selling vehicle worldwide), but I just don't care for them.

As for not owning a foreign car in your area, I did (a VW) and never had an issue.  Now, working at an auto plant, that may not work well.  I hear they have segregated parking for foreign vehicles near the back of the lots.

Toured the F150 plant last year.  It was amazing to see a new truck coming off the line every 60 seconds.  Wish now I had visited the Rouge plant as well.

I will say that the Toyota and Honda car sales lots were TINY in comparison to the big 3.  I'm talking maybe 100 vehicles on a lot vs over 1,000.

Nothing wrong with a f150. In fact I looked at them when I bought my Tundra in 2016. It just boiled down to price, and working for Toyota I got in a lot cheaper than I could for an f-150 . I traded in my 2007 Tundra that I owned for almost 10 years, for almost half of what I paid for it new.

Living in Keith's area, discounts on Fords are amazing.  Employees can get upwards of $8k off.  As a friend 9f a Ford employee, I could have saved about $4k.

All of the big 3 offer deep rebates, something the Japanese dealers never do.

-Very true, that is one of the reason why Japanese cars hold their value much better, usually

As for the discounts. We are discounting highlanders 7k this month and Rav4'' 6k. That is pretty strong, Biggest I have ever seen

Current Big 3 rebates are there  because its the  new model season..and we have new trucks being rolled out as we speak. Its just a numbers game, the goal is to grab as much market share as possible via lease. So that cars can be sold a second time on the terribly expensive "pre-owned" market.  Our real money makers aren't pickups, they are SUVs. That's why you will never see an large SUV truly on sale.

Japanese cars hold thier value better because they are "considered" higher quality and thought to last longer. This is still based on the preconception of back when american automakers were actually building bad cars while japanese automakers were building quality.

Older generations still remember these times.. hence the reason why they aim for Japanese cars, but in actuality all of the automakers share engineering, plants, suppliers, ect. So quality is relatively similar between the automakers as a whole.

Market saturation and new vehicle discounts also affect resale value.S for all brands having equal or similar reality, its simply not correct. Only 1 domestic in the top 15. For example everyone in the auto industry including chrysler know chryslers have very low reliability.

That’s ironic... the Tacoma and the Ridgeline are the “least reliable”?  Wonder what their metric was?  Never owned a Tacoma, but I know they have a huge cult following, and it cannot be due to unreliability.

Owned a Ridgeline for 11 years, and the only thing I ever replaced on it was tires (due to living in Alaska, not because they wore out), the RF headlight, oil, and the timing belt/serpentine belt/water pump combo that is recommended at 7 years (did mine at 10 years).  Never even took the spare tire out of the trunk.   Pretty darn reliable for me, it was.

Mini van are pretty huge over the world.. the US seems like the only market that doesn't fully appreciate their utility.
