I cant share questions on the board, since everyone has access here.  But yeah you are right about the ant hill comment.

Those that have their loved ones with them, should feel very lucky.  Take it from someone who left a piece of his heart thousands of miles away.

You don't have to share the information here, but make sure you share it with your spouse.

If you plan on doing the CR-1, she's going to have to fully know about it to make it past the interview stage for that, too.

There are some things that are to remain in the past because they hurt too much.

Not confiding in your to be spouse is going to hurt them not just because it is the cause of your denial but you didn’t trust enough to share it, that’s how I would feel about it anyway.

As far as immigration is concerned your past cannot be hidden, buried, or ignored.

It is going to take a lot to get over this as it will imply that your relationship isn’t real, I would recommend that if you do go the spousal route that you spend a lot of time together after marriage before filing a petition to build up evidence of a genuine relationship. That’s if the relationship can survive finding out about something significant in such a manner.

I think the OP already admitted that he made a mistake by not sharing the info. A situation like this could be very difficult to deal with.... We should not get all over him and refrain from predicting their relationship's future.

Yes it is a very difficult situation that they now find themselves in. I have a lot of empathy for his fiancée. Not predicting but advising that should the relationship continue it would be best from an immigration standpoint to invest a lot of FaceTime before marrying and then between marrying and submitting a petition in order to develop significant evidence of a bonefide relationship so that a future denial is less likely.
