Sydney Consulate - Interview Scheduled - What's Next?

Just got my husband's interview appointment notification from NVC today. His interview will be on 16 October in Sydney. Just wondering if we can expect any communication directly from the consulate prior to the interview or is this it before we attend the interview? Thanks!

Keeley, if you are going with him to the Consulate, you need to email them ahead of time and ask for a permission letter.  Otherwise, you will not be allowed into the Consulate.  They will send you an email, which you need to print and take with you.

 

I do not recall that we got anything else besides the interview appointment.  The appointment letter should say exactly what you should bring (and not bring).

Thanks! Yeah, I know I need to get approval to attend - I'm planning to email them today. The letter we got from NVC didn't include any consulate-specific instructions on what to bring/not bring, so I'm assuming we'll get an appointment letter from the consulate as our next (and hopefully final!) communication before the interview. Right now, our case status still says "In Transit" so I don't think anything has been received by the consulate yet. Thanks again!

thanks for posting this. we have 2 young kids that'll be travelling to sydney, i'm assuming I'll need to ask whether they should come too?

Yes, be sure all the names are on the Consulate's list.
