Hi.

I am an Irish guy living in Australia with an American Fiancé.

My fiancé sent the K-1 nomination form at the start of June 2018.  After looking through some of the topics and questions sent by other forum users, it has become apparent that she did not receive confirmation that the petition was received.  Is there a way to follow up to confirm the processing centre has received??  Is this normally sent upon receipt?  How is confirmation sent?

Also, is it possible to enter on a student visa and not affect the current application? Or would the k-1 Fiancé become null and void?  If I entered on a student visa, would I have to come back to Melbourne for my interview?

Thank you in advance.

Lucas

1. Has she called uscis? Did she fill out the paper requesting to be notified by email/text? Has her check been cashed?

2. You can apply for whatever Visa you want but keep in mind you'll have to pay international tuition (easily $20-30k a year) and most schools have already admitted for Spring Semester. If you come over on a F1 are you just planning to marry and adjust status instead of continuing the K1? (You know coming here with the intention to stay and adjust status is fraud, right?)

She is going to call USCIS.  There was no notification at all.  Is this common?  She sent a bankers cheque, so not sure if there is a way to confirm if it has been cashed.  How long would it normally take for them to send the receipt?

Just looking for information on other ways to get me there.

Thank you.

She should have gotten a Notice of action (NOA1) saying they received the packet a week or two after sending the petition.

Could she not contact the bank who issued the check to see if it was cashed?

If it was cashed, then the application was accepted and is in the line to be processed.
