N400 online filing "umemployed" or" student"

Hello VJers,

 

I would really love to have your advise on filing N400 online. It asks me about my 5 year employment history, I have a gap of 6month that I didn't work but I was studying for LSAT(so I can apply for law school). I am not sure if I should put this period as "unemployed" or "student". I was an enroll student of an online study agent called Kaplan. It is not a university or college, no credit or degree was earned. Can I call myself as student on N400? Please let me know what do you think. I really appreciate your help!

I think you can put unemployed as there is an address you need to include and if you are worrying that they do not consider it was a job (easy of mind).  To be honest, both will work.  Passing N-400 is very simple process if you have not committed any law. My parents barely speak English and they could pass without problem - they had 1 year gap of employment.

I'd say put down unemployed, as you did not gain any income during this time. For peace of mind, you could also upload your class schedule during this time to explain the employment gap.
