Information required for USA visa application from Canada

Hello everybody, 
I am an international PhD student in Canada and my visa will be expired on 2022. My wife is currently studying in USA (study permit, not a citizen or green card holder). I need to visit her sometimes in that case which visa type should I select and do I need to submit any bank statement or any relevant documents like marriage certificate or study permit documents. Your valuable suggestion and other information in this regard will be an asset for me. Thank you.

B2 is the visa category.

As stated, B-2 visitor visa. Fill out the DS-160 to apply. Be 100% honest at all times. Hope for the best.

You will be issued the visa or not based on your merits, not hers.

The main item is showing ties to return back to Canada/home. You can bring documentation like bank statements to show that you are able to pay for the trip yourself, but they may not even look at it. Better to have it in case they ask for it than not have it, though.

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received
