Potentially Urgent: Do I need a courier?

Bit of a worry, I’m in London with my embassy interview in the morning, and I read a couple of posts that kind of sound like I need to organise my own courier for the passport to get back to me?

Thats for other countries right? Tell me we don’t do that in London or tell me quickly which courier has a simple website! 😆

Edit: It’s a CR1 spouse visa if that makes any difference. Because I’m reading that “You are required to register with the courier service at the time you schedule the appointment and pay the MRV application fee” but I didn’t schedule my appointment it was scheduled for me by NVC

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

Too late to rectify it now if you haven't done so since you posted. Ask at the embassy tomorrow. It's not just any courier. It's the only one contracted with the embassy.

Your instructions:

After you have attended your medical examination, you should then register your visa interview through the Visa Appointment Service website at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv and follow these instructions:

  • Select “I have received a Consular interview appointment date from the National Visa Center (NVC), Kentucky Consular Center (KCC), or the Consular Section and I have been instructed to register my appointment on this site”;
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to register an account;
    • If your family members are applying under your case number, you may “add” applicants to your account after you have added your own details.
  • You will be asked to select your delivery method for the return of your passport if your visa application is successful. Delivery to a courier depot is free. If you wish to upgrade to home/office delivery you can pay an additional fee through your account;
  • Please go to “Print Instructions” in order to print your courier confirmation page. You must bring this with you on the day of the visa interview.
  • You should also bring your appointment letter you received from NVC.

Well I’ve signed up and got the courier confirmation page with my documents now, and it is before the interview as requested however close to the wire!

Hoping for minimal delay if any. Knew there’d be something, thanks for the assists.

Easy mate, when people tell you it’s the most pain free part they’re not lying! They let me in 15 minutes early and the whole thing took 30 minutes.

Took my hastily printed courier sheet with no questions too 🤣

You go through airport style security, dodge the big queue because you’re immigration (don’t know that this works for fiancé but I’m CR1), go upstairs, sit down, and your ticket number will call you to two different windows.

Basically two people who already know you’re legit because USCIS and NVC already vetted you ask you a few questions. When did you meet your spouse, when are you moving to the US?

Job done. I’ll have my passport back in a week or two. Absolutely painless XD

Because of CEAC I wasn’t even asked for the affidavit of support or any of my wife’s documents.

I’M DRINKING POOR QUALITY MERLOT ON THE TRAIN HOME LADS, CONDITIONAL RESIDENCY IS GO

I have spoken to a few other IR1-CR1's in London recently and they have said the same... nothing other than the beneficiary's original documents as everything else is already uploaded on CEAC!

All that extra stress my attorney is putting on me as they don't know the updated procedure!!!

Congratulations mate and enjoy your cheap plonk!!! :lol:

Mate I’ll be telling anyone who asks to do what we did, dump your attorney when you get NOA2. The original I-130 packet isn’t easy to navigate, but beyond that point NVC and everything else is straightforward, especially with the help of the fine people on this forum :)

I'm just glad we'll never have to do it again!

@4000mf did you get your passport back already?

Arrived today mate!

Got the 'IV docs in CCD' note on my visa but also got the white envelope for some reason. Wrapping up work with my current client for four weeks then I'll be heading for a POE and my wife :)

Good news mate!!.. that’s strange they gave you the white envelope, I thought we didn’t get one as we’re pivot?!

Also so did opt for delivery or collection of the passport?
