There are ways to expedite. Do more research. Just because I got EAD in 75 days doesn't mean u can't expedite for the interview. I am also a wife of a US military member and I was told in USCIS office I can expedite even green card as my husband gets deployed in war zones. And after getting green card it's even possible to get US citizenship faster than 5 years. I already regret making this topic as everyone gets upset and mean coz some people got things faster😂 people you are mean 😁

Oh no, please dont get this "entitled" attitude of military spouse. Especially since you just married the soldier.. trust me. It's not pretty.

Honestly I never heard of top security job for green card holder. Someone lied to you.  Never heard of AOS expedited either. Visa - yes, there is expedite for deployment. Just be grateful you have your ead already.

Oh I am so entitled to be a military spouse 🤐 I was asking for information and I just got bunch of preachers in here, teaching for what to be grateful for.

Hi. I have a job offer which requires obtaining top security clearance and it isn't possible,if I don't have at least green card. That's the reason.

Technically AOS can be expedited. But the reasons that they will approve for an expedite are extremely limited. The potential ability to obtain a job and obtain top security clearance has almost no chance of approval for an expedite. Not being mean..just telling it like it is.

There are numerous ways to obtain US citizenship in less than 5 years, although one must qualify for certain provisions.

You won’t get a TS without being a US citizen.

My question was not about TS. So...

TS = Top Security (Clearance)

An actual job offer goes a long way in expediting.

No job offer leaves you without a reason for expediting.

You can't expedite because you're a spouse. That is incorrect. My husband deployed whilst I was waiting for my initial approval, it made zero difference. If you marry a US Citizen, and gain your green card through that process, you can apply for citizenship after 3 years. The fact that you're a military spouse makes again, no difference. You're just going to have to wait and be at the discretion of USCIS.

Yes, I was kind of curious too because I came from a family who worked for US government from US-VN war and we have several family members serve in US Air Force. It was still tough to get a lower clearance (not top secret clearance) with my USC.

:pop: Probably need to check if you actually have the job offer first, then make sure you can even obtain the clearance. Even if being a GC holder you can obtain one (which for some low level clearances you can as it happens in the military), just that doesn't mean you'd pass the background checks and all to get it. It does cost the employer a lot of money even just for a secret clearance so probably wanna just make sure of that. And yes former military myself so do know a little bit about it. Good luck in your efforts though.

“2. Do you have to be a U.S. citizen to receive a security clearance from the Department of State?
As outlined in Executive Order 12968, Access to Classified Information, as amended, eligibility for access to classified information may only be granted to employees who are United States citizens. However, an exception is allowed in specific situations wherein there are compelling reasons for limited access to be granted to an immigrant alien or foreign national employee who possess a special expertise that is needed for specific programs, projects, contracts, licenses, certificates, or grants.”

First off, EAD and GC timelines do not have much to do with each other anymore. EADs are all processed centrally now and everyone has the same timeline. A GC is dependent on what state you are in and what field office. Many military familes are in small states with very fast "field offices" and in such states it is a lot easier to push for an expedite you do not beleive me go look data for each field office.  The average length for a greencard is not over 12 months yet nationally, so that means for every extremely long case there is, there is a offset where the case is faster than EAD still.

While OP, has not provided much more information about their situation nor may they want to. Though more information is helpful for all. Not everyone's case is the same.

75 days?  How about 455 days?  That’s how long it took us. Not saying yours will take that long. Just saying....

455 days for a green card or a clearance?
