Request for evidence for EAD

Hello Everyone,

 

we have received an RFIE asking to provide a mailing address after we have being waiting for 120 days because the person prepared the form put their address instead.. our questions are, did anyone received the something like this  before? does that mean the clock will reset and we have to wait another 90 days to get the card? please see attached.

RFE doesn’t reset the clock. It slows it down a bit but the good news is as soon as you send them what they requested, your case will move again and an adjudication will come soon. Just send it in ASAP and you’re good.

We sent it today. we heard that request for initial evidence reset the clock but we are hoping since they are requesting the mailing address that's all they need to send the card soon. Thank you so much for replying.

An RFIE resets the clock for when USCIS considers the application outside normal timelines. However, I have not seen anything to suggest that it actually slows down the process versus a regular RFE (which only pauses the clock).

Thank you for replying. I just finds it ridiculous to wait another 90 days only for mailing  address request. Lets hope it's not.

one more think, the status shows RFIE but the letter says RFE.

Looks like an RFE to me personally. Not that it matters in your case, anyway.
