Change on AR11 won't reflects the change for your document at immigration office. You will need to call your local immigration office where your documentation is kept to change your address. Then you will receive an confirmation letter from them at your new address. Good luck.

i dont think so because people just change the address online AR-11 and the sponsor change his address too by submiting the form and thats it its done.i did not know that i have to call the local office ,i already have a CGC

That depends on whether the alien has any pending petitions or not, or whether the alien is subject to Special Registration or not.

I asume he is going to file for I751 and I751 will be sent to the same office where his I-485 is filed. I know he has not pending case at this time, it won't be harm to let them know his new address to avoid any underliver service trouble in the future.

If he will move again before submitting I-751, then he should not call immigration for the change now.

Makidesuu,

You know what they say about "assuming"??? ;)

Actually, that wouldn't be necessary. If an alien submits a petition or application, his or her address (permanent) will be one of the entries on the form, which is why once one has submitted a petition or application and later moves, it is necessary to call the local office as well as submitting the AR-11 Change of Address Form. The AR-11 is for notification purposes only. It has no impact on any forms in an alien's file. Calling the District Office alerts them to make the appropriate changes on pending applications that are in their hands at the time.

As stated in the confirmation page (wherein a reference no. is shown), the change will reflect after 45 days. If the address is not amended after that, you have to call USCIS.

We did the same, online AR-11 application.
