Rush Limbaugh said that the Republican prosecutrix was failing by treating this like a deposition when it was a hearing/television spectacle.  Most of the peanut-gallery media commentators agreed.

 

Mark Levin, conversely, said that she did just fine, methodically picking holes in Ford's story.

He made the point that the Democrats were looking like fools, especially the Rhode Island guy who was litigating a hyskool yearbook.

 

Levin said that the repeated calls for "FBI investigations" weren't valid at all -- the FBI merely interviews people, throws their statements in a binder, and gives it to the White House.  He questioned why CBF simply didn't go to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office to file a criminal complaint, if this was such a big deal to her -- but that's not what the Democrats were after.  They wanted a national spectacle.

Not sure how things work but Lindsey Graham said he wants an investigation of how Ford's letter was leaked and why Feinstein's office recommended Deborah Katz to be her lawyer. He said it's not the job of a senator to recommend lawyers. He also wants to know why Ford did not know that the committee was prepared to travel to meet up with her, Katz had be notified and even replied on behalf of Ford. 

 

That investigation has the potential for more scandal than anything the FBI can find out about Kavenaugh.

It does feed their base, I was talking to a few friends who I would expect to normally vote D, and the subject was about stuff we may have done in late teens which we would not think relevant or a matter of discussion now.

 

And elections are decided by those of us in the middle, not the hard core.
