Again I really only see things getting worse for R's continuing to stick by Kavanaugh. I really do not know what is so important in keeping him, when they could simply replace him with someone better and free themselves from the mess. They'd come out looking better. Ford could take the tactic to file a report with the county police and launch a state investigation. If the R's insist on pushing him through, and the police or state's attorney decided to file charges we'd then run into a huge debacle of a sitting justice needing to be deposed, jailed... who knows. There is nothing protecting a justice from criminal prosecution.

First of all there will be no criminal charges because the statute of limitations was up a long time ago. Secondly the more one digs into this the less credible Ford looks and she has no witnesses to back up her story. This is just a delay tactic from the left. I don't even think Kavanaugh is the best choice but I can see this for what it is.

I think when we see things like this happen, and it turns out to be a smear campaign by women, that when it turns out to be a big nothing sandwich, said accuser needs to either pay a large fine or spend time in jail for the false accusations.  (Not speaking to just this case, but any sexual allegations that are tossed out at potential candidates).

Libel and Slander maybe? I would like to see the 'Lawyer' involved in any charges.

My wife told me last night that the cell phone Ford allegedly used back in the day to report the sexual encounter was first made a year after they graduated HS.

Yes, that too.  The cost of that Motorola Dynatac 8000x in March 1984 was around 4 grand.  I remember them well.  About 3 rich people in my town had one.

Ok, disregard this cellphone nonsense.  I never should have posted it without looking at it personally. It comes from the meme she saw on a friend’s timeline on FB (admittedly, he NORMALLY posts pretty factual stuff, but I don’t think so this time).  Can’t find any credible source as to the claim of making a cell call to her GF when the alleged assault allegedly happened.

That's just incorrect. Like I said before, the state of MD has no statute of limitations on these kinds of things. If she files a report and should they find anything credible, charges could be filed. It happens in this state all the time.
