Visiting the states while processing

I have an interesting question, kind of.

I looked it up and read that it’s ok for my fiancé to enter the States while the k1 visa is being processed, as long as she brings proof that she will return to Japan. However, I’m a flight attendant for an airline and we would like to travel together elsewhere using my flight benefits. Since it is an American airline she would have to come to the states first in order to travel elsewhere using my benefits.

My question is would it be ok for her to enter the states and then go abroad to a different country (not her home country) and then enter the states again from that country?

They will treat her like every other tourist every time she enters the US. Means that there motives and ties to the home country will be questioned every time she's at the border. She might have no issues, or she might be not allowed to enter.

Every time she enters they will give her a new period of allowed stay. Might be 6 months, might be 2 weeks.

If she’s a Japanese citizen eligible for the VWP it will be 90 days every time. No more, no less.

Nothing wrong with visiting during the process. It’s not illegal. But remember that entry is only ever guaranteed to USCs. It is down to her to satisfy the officer at the airport that she will return.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!
