If anyone has questions, just ask, I'm more than willing to share my story.  Sorry if i got a little peeved, I was just hoping that she wouldn't have to go back to SA.  This journey has been amazing, and the time it's taken isn't an issue at all, we understand what we got in to. To reiterate, I was just asking if she could interview here.

Thank you for all the replies.

No worries and we all know it's tough being separated from our loved one. But we all had to go through. It's a necessary evil of the process. As explained, visas are issued from outside the US so there is no way around this. She will be with you permanently soon enough! Hang in there. Y'all are lucky to just have each other. Good luck with the AoS too. The AoS part is a different kind of waiting from the K1 petition and approval.

I think the surprising thing is that unless she lives with her parents/is a student/quite young etc,  it is unusual that an adult could simply abandon their domicile and life in their home country when the plan all along was purportedly to return for the rest of the K-1 process.  Most people have loose ends to tie up, even if they don't have property to sell or jobs to resign from.

My fiance was here in August when our NOA2 came in, and his return flight was 11 days later.  From NOA2 ===> his interview at Auckland will be 6.5 weeks total.  Small change in the overall process!   Waiting isn't fun for anyone, but after that 6-7 month wait for NOA2,  things really speed up.
