Hi guys,

We have our interview next Friday. Feel I’m ready to tell ‘our story’. Waited 6 weeks to get to the interview point, which has felt a lifetime at times. If I had of known my medical from getting done to being in the embassy in 7 calendar days I’d have done my interview in August. Irrelevant now I guess. We have all the documents ready. Just feeling nervous (as like others) have waited super long. How did other people overcome their nerves pre interview and on the day?

I feel we’ve done everything we could have to this point. Decision time next Friday I guess. This post is London forum based as obviously I’ll be interviewing in London.

Thanks,

Jon 🍀

I wasn't nervous because I knew we were a real couple and there was no reason for denial.

They aren't out to trip you up and fail you because they don't like you. You are not the first same sex couple to interview for a visa if that is a worry.  Read the reviews. You show up, have a short chat, and done.

Hey Jon!  Good luck on your interview next week!  I can't speak from the beneficiary perspective but I can say that my husband (fiance' at the time) was also quite nervous when it was time for his interview.  In the long run, it was really quick and easy!  The London embassy seems to be a fairly easy one.  Just try to take a deep breath and be yourself.  Just be honest and let your love shine through and you will be fine.

I will say, before my husband's interview, we went through and read a lot of the London embassy reviews on here.  That helped calm his nerves a bit as well.  Just double check that your paperwork is in order and that you have everything that is required.  That will be one of the most important things.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks for that! We are a real couple so I know I can answer any question as I know Jake so well. There is no reason we should be denied. What we have is fully legitimate and honest true love 💖

The interview process is not anything to be worried about. It's generally very straight forward and even can be pretty simple. For us we had 7-8 questions (all basic stuff), no pressure. Then just like that it was done.

Lot of sitting around and then done.

The interview is pretty underwhelming and by far the quickest/easiest/most painless part of the process

Of course we were all told this before our interview and we were all convinced that somehow, someway, something would go horribly wrong for us - it really is as easy as everyone says for people who have a straightforward case.

Good luck and enjoy your celebration 😁

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey
