E-3 visa denial, now seeking J-1

Hello!

I have recently had two E-3 visa applications denied.

I am now trying to figure out my next options. I've been advised that I shouldn't have a problem applying for a J-1 Trainee visa with the same employer whom my E-3 was denied with, however I'm really concerned I'll pay over $3k for the application, only to have a consulate officer deny it.

Has anyone had any experience seeking a new visa type after being denied please?

Thanks!

Lucy

Your Employer would pay the costs, $3k sounds a lot.

The basic 214b issues apply to J visas also.  So, if that was the issue, you will likely be denied again.  The other issue, depending on when the E3 denials occurred, is that applying quickly for another category of visa will make you look desperate to get to the US and a visa shopper trying to get here under whatever guise possible.  Your true motives will definitely be questioned
