So, I was reading the CFO page in http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/cfo-orientation-seminar.html and encountered some notes regarding travel tax payment after CFO and visa stamped, it even directed me to a link where i can pay the travel tax. Can I pay the travel tax hours before my flight?

I am not sure how the online system works, it is rather new.   But I would think you get the opportunity to print out a receipt after payment.   And if you pay at one of the locations you should get a receipt I would believe also..  just present the receipt at the airport

I did the online payment for my travel tax last August and it seems that some check-in agents at the counter (Asiana Airlines) were still not familiar with it. They asked me to have my printed receipt validated at the TIEZA counter even though I insisted that it's already verified online. Well, I went to the TIEZA counter and talked to one of the people there and they were also puzzled why they don't honor it.

I ended up talking to a check-in counter supervisor just to get my boarding pass. SMH😑

I was really hoping for a hassle free check-in that's why I opted to do it online. Haha, I should've known better lol.

So is it better just to do it the day of the flight ?

Nope, not better.  Pay the travel tax online anytime before heading to the airport.  Do what works for you.
