San Bernardino Field Office Filers

Hello all,

I recently moved from  LA county to San Bernardino county and filed my N400 with a pending I-751 back in April 2018. Though, because of my move, I expect there to be a delay while they transfer my paper filed case to the new office. I am hoping to create a thread for anyone and everyone who filed at the San Bernardino office and hear about your experiences there with interviews and processing times. Thanks so much.

The entire process took about 4 month from filing to Oath Ceremony.

He filed his application on April 23, 2018 online and the Interview was August 02, 2018 in San Bernadino, CA which took about 10 minutes or so.

The Oath Ceremony was on August 24, 2018 in Los Angeles at the Convention Center.

 

I had a conversation with an Immigration Attorney yesterday and she said that it is almost unheard of that his case moved so quickly in San Bernadino, CA. Usually it takes a lot longer for most people.

 

I will be also filling for N400 online at the end of October 2018 (3 year marriage) and my office is San Bernadino, CA as well. I will post back then.

Wow that is a really quick processing time for your friend. I don’t think mine will be processed that quickly as I originally filed in Los Angeles county and only just changed my address to San Bernardino. I also didn’t file online, rather I paper filed. My case completion time says 7 months but we all know how inaccurate these are. 

 

Ive been waiting 5 months so far. Fingers crossed and good luck to you when you file. I’ll update regularly as soon as I hear anything.

I sent mine September, Bio done now just waiting for Interview letter :) San Bernardino field :) Applying for 5 years rule.

Hello!

 

I filed N400 online, my local office should be San Bernardino, but they are sending me to Riverside for the biometrics appointment. Has anyone else had that? Can you do walk-ins in Riverside? it's an hour and a half away for me, so I don't think I'll go ahead of time, but I might get impatient!

 

We've been married 9 years, moved to the US Feb 2016 from Canada (he had gotten residency in Canada and then we decided we wanted to be in the US instead). So I filed 3 years -90 days.

Yes you can do walk-ins at the Riverside Biometrics office. I have done so a few weeks ago as soon as I could print out the Biometrics letter. No problems and I was in within 20 minutes.

Had my interview at 07:15; checked in at 07:15 and was back in the car by 08:00

 

Very nice young man interviewed me, and everything went very smoothly. I will be on pins and needles until I take the oath though!

I was through security and at the check-in desk right on time, waited for maybe 8 -10 minutes, had a very nice officer. He asked for my green card, state ID, passport; my spouse's birth certificate (and I also had a photocopy of his passport page that I gave him); our marriage certificate--I didn't have an original, it's gone missing. I don't know if maybe they kept in in Montreal after my interview? I think I have turned over every piece of paper in this house looking for it, and it wasn't anywhere. So I ordered another one from Vital Statistics, thinking the first one would show up. It hasn't, but I do have another one coming. I explained that I didn't have the original (I gave him a photocopy), but that I had another one coming. He took my fingerprints and a photo. He asked for some bills and things showing we're both in the same house, and I showed him those. I had to read out loud two simple sentences, and I had to write down Lincoln was the President during the Civil War. My civics questions were: What is freedom of religion, Who is the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS, What are the two main political parties, Who makes Federal law, Name a war the US fought in the 1800s, and If the POTUS and VPOTUS couldn't lead the country, who becomes POTUS?

 

He went through the questionnaire, and I showed him our this year's tax return when he got to the tax questions. He asked how my husband and I met. I had an absolute pile of paper with me, and needed very little of it, but SO MUCH BETTER to have too much.

 

At the end he puts a paper in front of me, and I didn't have my glasses on, so I asked, Oh, are you giving me an RFE for the marriage certificate? but he wasn't, it was the approval. We talked about how the notice of the oath ceremony will come (only by snail mail??) and what dates were coming up for LA. The interviewing people have to be there, too! which I had somehow missed. I will make sure I have the marriage certificate with me just in case someone needs it.

Checked MyUSCIS account and the oath ceremony has been scheduled, I made it into the April 23 group. Yay!
