Hello everyone!

After about 9 months, I finally got the date for my interview, which is happening on the 20th of September.

Now, i'm an -extremely- anxious person, so I would like some pointers and some help on how to deal with the interview at the best i can, any help would be appreciate really.

I have reprinted both the submitted forms, the birth certificates, the marriage license and the proofs submitted at the beginning.

Also, along with the documents we sent at the start (which included IDs, shared health insurance plans, joint bank statement and affidavits from our marriage witnesses) we have the following: Shared Tax Return, Apartment Lease (albeit there's also a housemate on it) and about 25 to 30 photos of us taken during the 3 years we lived together ( Mostly selfies we took together so the quality isn't great, but there's plenty of our Dates, pictures from Birthdays, Family events, Marriage and Anniversary)

Now, I've been reading here and there online about questions and it doesn't look too bad, but my crippling anxiety makes it feel like the a mountain is about to crush me so... What do you guys think? Are those enough proofs? How vicious can the questions get? How likely it is for us to be separated at the interview?

Oh! On a final note: I'm on adjustment of status from student visa. Now, i got my notice of action pretty much during the winter break, and I took the chance to take a break from college ( ESPECIALLY since the college i went to increased the cost of my tuition of about 1500 $ ) so, should I expect questions about it too? Would it be a red flag, enough to warrant a separated interview? Even though I got in the U.S. during December 2015 and, went to college until December 2017, I didn't get married until Feb 2017 and didn't apply for a GC until Dec 2017?

Alright, that is all! Sorry for the rambling, every day it passes I feel like I'm just losing it haha...

Hello!!

I'm doing F1-AOS based on marriage and I'm from SA too! What a coincidence, rite?!

9 months is pretty fast to be scheduled for interview. I hope mine will be the same. "finger crossed* (I just sent my forms last week)

I believe you have enough evidence for the interview. And good luck to you!!! You got it!!

No one really knows if there will stork interview for 100% sure but all you can do is do the best you can to provide the marriage is bona fide.  When my sister-in-law got married to my brother on her F1 visa, she dropped from college right away after wedding as her mind was no longer good for studying. They started their own personal business while filed for their petition and got approved - only she was interviewed but very basic questions.  Her green card got renewed without an interview and now she is a US citizen.  At the time, she got her interview very quick - less than 6 months but recently my cousin filed her adjustment from F1: 1 year interview and another year waiting for her green card arrival.

Do you also have any bills with both your names on them?? If so, bring those too but your paperwork seems good as is.

As for the interview, I understand being nervous. I wouldn't worry about your student visa or anything related being brought up. The interview is to determine the validity of your romantic relationship and marriage. Of course, if the IO needs clarification on ANYTHING, they can ask. But it's unlikely as they pretty much know your history from their own records.

The Stokes interview (separated interviews) only occur if they suspect fraud from the get-go and/or there's bad signs at the interview (very little grasp on English, clear lack of knowledge about each other, etc). Italy's a low fraud country btw, so why would they be immediately suspicious?? Answer: they wouldn't. From USCIS' perspective, it's not in their best interest to be overly suspicious and accuse every couple of fraud either because doing the Stokes interview uses up their resources, time and energy. So they need good reason and they need to maintain an image of intelligence and professionalism. The IO's are smart and trained to read people and they also don't want to socialize with every single couple for an hour. Of course, some IO's are harsh. But even with harsh IO's, it's better to be relaxed and confident and calm. Nervousness and anxiety can come across as fake or that you are hiding something. So it's better to be confident and not allow for any doubt to seep into the IO's mind. Hope this was helpful.

Definitely immensely helpful!

Thank you so much for your time, this does calm me a lilttle bit, which is already a huge help!

Will probably just go through relationship related questions with my husband in prep for thursday, but i'll try to be as confident as i can be :)

If it's any help, i got my approval date on the 29 December 2017, by the first week of Jan i got my NOA, at the end of january i got my biometrics and the huge wait started in february ( the dreaded "we are scheduling your interview" message on the USCIS site lol).

Also, received my EAD around the 25th of may so those are a bit on the slow side in SA!

When is your Priority Date? I filed at San Antonio in June and was wondering how long it took for your interview.

We used this Table of Contents as a guide to stage our evidence. We front-loaded the application. Granted, this example is of an I-751 Removal of Conditions filing, it is applicable. I would focus on showing the longevity of your relationship.

I-751 Joint Filing.

06-15-2021 - Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken.

05-26-2021 - Received NOA/extension letter. Notice date and postmarked 05-20-2021.

05-23-2021 - Received text message with Receipt #. YSC Potomac Center.

05-21-2021 - Checks cashed (processing on joint checking account)

05-07-2021 - I-751 received in Arizona.

Marriage-based AOS - Concurrent filing.

05-07-2019 - AOS Approved. Resident since date 05/07/2019.

05-06-2019 - AOS Interview

04-23-2018 - "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

03-16-2018 - Priority Date.

And this is most of our submission. The Table of Contents explains what the evidence is proof of. USCIS does not have to connect the dots for you.

I strongly recommend getting an advance health care directive and a financial power of attorney.

Hello everyone!

Update time! Had the interview this morning and it went pretty good! We got accepted after about 30 minutes of interview (15 of which were spent by the lady trying to find a tabletop gaming shop that she asked us to try lol). She just asked really simple questions, but she seemed more interested in knowing us per se, more than a cold interview. She said I should receive my GC in the mail in about 2/3 weeks!

She took the extra documents we brought, but barely looked at them besides the photos!

Now just to wait. Only issue that MAY arise i think its that since we changed our living location, we both fumbled and told her we moved in in July instead of June, but I suppose if any issue arise with that the fact that they have a copy of our lease should clarify our memory being... not the greatest (we couldn't remember our own phone numbers since we changed them =_=; )

But yeah. Now just waiting for the GC! Was gonna check on the USCIS site if my status changed but what do you know apparently i forgot the password so that's gonna be fun to get back into lol.
