How many of these children have you welcomed into your home?

I already answered this. I wouldn't mind being a foster parent for these childeren. I feel there is a difference in protecting childeren from sex trafficking and gangs than just taking in a child because mom doesn't want to be responsible anymore

Everyone knows 99.9 percent are coming for economic reasons . Let's stop pretending

But see that's why if only 1% are truly coming for fear than we should find a reasonable solution. Personally if someone is coming in just for economic reasons than I feel I should have the right to throw them out first. Because that's not fair. We all want better lives and yet here I am doing it the right way and it's taken years and lots of money and it's still not over yet but yet on CNN once this guy from Mexico was like "I go back to America every four days and work than I come back to my family." Like it's nothing like he's skipping across the border all freely yet some of us have put time and money into a legal process. NOW that I agree that's not fair.

We all want a better life their  life in that regard is no better than my families. And for the love of God if you're gonna go to America ILLEGALLY for economic reasons the least you can do is assimilate better. How the hell have you lived in America for 15 years and still don't speak English? And yes I know. I know English isn't Americas official language but if that's what everyone speaks than learn that language.

English is the de facto language of America, you’re fine there.  Learning to speak the language of the country in which you are living, even if it is temporary, is the right thing to do.  And will get you MUCH farther with the locals than not learning to speak.

As for your answer abovebeing a foster parent... that is a noble thing, but no one that I am aware of really does it for illegal immigrant children.  They simply use them as political pawns.  And whether they are in their original country or the US, they are subject to risks of murder, rape, and slavery.  Though HOPEFULLY the risk here is a lot less.

You’ll find there are only a handful of people in CEHST who support illegal immigration.  Maybe less, IDK.  Our far-left population has been getting smaller as time goes on.

And welcome to VJ and particularly CEHST.  Gets a tad heated in here sometimes, but it’s always nice to see some new faces.

Agreed. If you're gonna go to a country you need to know two important things

1. Learn the language. No dang excuse for you to have lived in a country for years and still not know the language that just means you want all the benefits and perks but you don't want to really be part of that country (in my opinion)

and 2. ASSIMILATE. Like I get why Europe is becoming more far right and I'm Muslim and Middle Eastern and I get the problem. Like you can't go to Germany and than not assimilate and just have a little town on your own or a little neighborhood like no it doesn't work that way. You can't go to America and say "Well I wanna live here and seek all the benefits but I don't wanna learn how to properly live here" it doesn't work that way. I remember a couple who were applying for citizenship in a European country and they were rejected because they didn't shake hands with the person at the Embassy and I didn't see anything wrong with that. If you're gonna live in that country then know the culture if you don't wanna shake hands go to Saudi Arabia not Europe.

I'm very liberal like Bernie Sanders liberal but I can't support illegal immigration because to me that's not fair that some people spent years and lots of money doing it the right way yet some people are just crossing the border freely. That's not fair at all their economic problems are no worse than other peoples economic problems who are legally trying to come to the US. We all have families to support but we still do things the right way. That's not fair that they think they are better than us to just cross the border without having all the stress that some of us who are going about it legally have. (Trust me people think legal immigration is easy it's not but at least when you do it the right way you don't have to worry about ICE)

Lol I can see that and Thank you glad to be here.

But if a child is already in the US morally I don't know if I can just see them thrown back into a country where they could be killed or raped.

The kids being raised in inner cities like Chicago, Baltimore, etc are probably in much more danger.  Lets fix our own kids in danger of being abused and shot, before we accept families coming here looking for jobs or just because they live in a dangerous neighborhood.

Inner city Chicago kids would be better off crossing the border and claiming asylum

But what does that even mean, to assimilate, "to properly live here", in America?  In a country that claims to value individuality and freedom?

As to having your own little town or neighbourhood—that seems to be pretty common here, looking at all the cities that have clearly distinguishable white and black neighborhoods, gated communities etc.  Americans seem to prefer to live among their own, so why should immigrants not do the same?
