Case returned to uscis after noa 2

Timeline

Hey all we  got our noa 2 last month we didn't get our cases number  we thought everything was going smoothly then Received notification that case has been sent to USCIS by Dept. of State for review does this mean its going to be deneind ?

It likely means they found something not quite right in the petition and want USCIS to review if the criteria was met. Perhaps they (USCIS) will have to RFE you if indeed they overlooked a critical element. Or maybe they say it's fine and send it back to DOS. It's a delay for sure, but not a denial.

thanks  glad about not getting a denial was reading horror stories about the case getting sent back to USCIS  and not getting touched 
how long would the wait be
