Hi,

I have been a greencard holder for 2 1/2 years but have recently moved back to the UK and my husband has applied for a UK settlement visa. I have a week off work and want to travel back for the week to see him while we wait for the visa to be processed. I am yet to give up my greencard but at the time of travelling I will have been out of the US for just over 4 months. Can I re-enter on my greencard, should I cancel my greencard and apply for a tourist visa or apply for an ESTA? I am a UK citizen.  Thank you in advance for your help!

Since it hasn’t been long you left, you can use your go to enter. But if you’re planning on no longer being a resident, you’re better off giving up the green card (there’s a form you have to fill) and then applying for esta/ vwp again so you can still visit in the future
