I am very interested to know, I had sent an email to state senator, but there is nothing they can really do except put through an inquiry 8 weeks into AP.

I don’t wanna force an outcome, I just want to shake things a little bit or get them to look at it or tell me what is happening and why I am left in the limbo with all my life plans suspended.

We have done this a year and a half ago and they have been inquiring (the same inquiry we do and no more) every few weeks on our behalf and of course they only get the same copy/paste response we get

can they do more than this?

They have no control, they can find out for you the current situation.

Congressperson should be able to help a little more than than.  I am not sure if contacting your state Senator is any better.  I contacted Senator and things moved quite fast after that at the USCIS level.

I think so but I asked the contact person in the senator office more than once and they said nothing they can do more than this

it is the state senator we are talking to, the ombudsman or whatever they call it did not even help at all

You need to push folks at the state senators office and ask them to inquire with the embassy whats going on and what is taking so long.  Go down to their office and speak to them personally.  Keep contacting the embassy every week via. their contact form for an update.  Search this forum for folks that are/were in your situation to learn about options available to you at this stage.

if you push an Embassy like Cairo like that, and can be darn sure they will put your file on a shelf and never look at it again.

All the Embassy can tell you is that it is AP, not their process.

I have read your timeline and the review of the consulate is like any regular interview , what is not normal is the AP taking that long something not right at all , people get AP for different reason for like month to 3 months 6 months not for that long must been something wrong.

 

Having lawyer in Egypt is difficult and before you hire him he will assure you he will fix it and he may not even allowed to enter embassy and just a drain of money, there is a translation office the Nadoury and Nahas beside embassy he is also lawyer office . i would go and meet him and ask for option or brief him and hear from them maybe they give some info or maybe they guide you to someone trusted ,but before you hire anyone you need understand what steps he is gonna take and to know where you paying your money.

keeping following with the embassy through email and to the state email for immigrants is also an option while waiting.
