UPDATE - The whole appointments open up at midnight thing is REAL!! Logged on and at the stroke of midnight 10 slots opened up. Good advice for anyone struggling to get an appointment :)

Yay. It seems like they open slots at random time during the day. I was sitting at work and refreshing infopass website every 10--15 min literally and then BOOM tons of appointments available. I am going at 7.30 am on Monday. I don't know what made me to schedule so early as I will be driving 495 during morning rush hour :bonk:

It's pretty random for Fairfax. I had success getting available slots around 2:30pm last year, and around maybe 10:00am a few weeks ago. Perhaps a 100 slots had opened, but we observed they were all taken within an hour or so.

Midnight didn't work for us as I stayed up refreshing the website frequently from 11:30p till 12:30a a couple of night and nothing.

I had my infopass this morning. The supervisor happen to be at the front desk and gave me a hard time about the stamp. He kept repeating that they don't give it until a month before the extension letter expires. I kept arguing with him.  I told him I have two upcoming trips and one is ending just before expiry of my extension letter  and how hard it is to schedule those appointments. He agreed that it is not easy to book those appointments and eventually gave his permission for 6 months stamp. When I walked into the room there was no one there, one person working and it took 30 min to be called. What the hell are they doing there? I have been there twice and I didn't see any crowds so how come it is so hard to get thoses freaking infopass appointment.

I asked the supervisor about the new 18 months extension letters, why some people get it and some don't. He said that those who got them will wait for their green card a little bit longer. Whatever.......
