Is your I-94 from entry still valid?

 

If it is then yes, you can use your passport.... if it is expired then you need to show them the NOA1 for the I-485 showing you're in a "legal" status or the NOA2. Or just use your state ID if you have one. That is fine for domestic travel. My husband, while having his green card just uses his license to fly without issue.

I thought the I-94 is only valid for like a month or so after entry. She entered about 6 months ago. And we cant get drivers license without work permit or green card, which we dont have yet. We just got AOS approval yesterday, so maybe we'll bring the interview notice (is that the NOA2?)

Yea sorry don't know why I mentioned the I-94 that made no sense haha. Not quite all here this morning it seems. Definately take the NOA1, marriage license, state id/license and sure even the interview notice and you should be okay.

The TSA website says "foreign government passport" is fine, but yeah, cant hurt to bring the other stuff.

The passport is fine for travel. My wife did that for about 5 months after she got here until the NOA1 arrived for AOS.

A state ID and a passport are all you need while traveling in the lower 48.

Umm, yean....since most US citizens use only a state ID when travelling in the US, it's kinda obvious that would work 😃 Even without a passport.

 

The question was about those who haven't been able to get a state ID since they don't yet have a green card or EAD.

Umm, yean?  Lol. I wasn’t talking about the US Citizen, obviously. I was talking about traveling with a state ID, if you have one.  Most of us were able to acquire one before green card and EAD because we didn’t wait until the last minute to get one. That was a priority for us, for sure. You should be getting your green card in about a week since you were approved at interview. We were approved on September 5th and received notice yesterday that card was mailed.

Even on our flight to Alaska, my husband just showed his passport both going and coming back. We went two weeks ago.
