Hello everyone! my parents 're going to have interview next week. Now I have problem with preparing documents for their interview.

1. does we give all documents to CO follow the checklist?

2. will we need to give docs to CO as a folder or only what they ask for?

3. should I use paperclip and stapler ?

4. should I file original doc separate or with the copies?

5. will they return our photo of evidence?

I'm looking forward to hear ur experiences, thanks

hi

they take originals and copies to the interview, they don't hand anything, these documents were already requested. If the consul needs anything, then your parents will hand the document to the consul. Have them ready just in case. they won't return documents if the consul requests it.

sometimes immigration might loose a document o paperwork, so it's a good idea to have all the originals and copies at the interview, but they might not ask for anything

You should organize the documents in order as noted in the interview letter, and in seperate folders to help CO and your parents find documents easily, such as:

- Folder of civil documents: original and copies of birth certificate, police certificate, marriage certificate. Your certificate of naturalization, US passport can be copy.

- Folder of financial documents: your newest tax transcript, AOS with signature.

- Folder of relationship proofs such as your photos, letters...

Your parents can give them the folder so they can find what they want more easily, if you organized the folder in order.

Do not use staple. Keep the paper seperately so they can take any paper they want.

4. should I file original doc separate or with the copies?

You can make a seperate folders for original and copies. It is up to you.

5. will they return our photo of evidence?

After your parents go to the Consulate and check their fingerprints, in Pre-interview, the CO will check your parents' documents. And they will take original and copies of birth certificate, police certificate, ID, passport... to prepare for the interview.

In the interview they will ask to see some photos and give them back.

After the interview, CO will RETURN all the original documents and photos. They keep copies and passport only.

Some applicants were so happy after passing the interview, and they forgot to take back the original documents, so they lost them.
