This is going to be super blunt:

There are people waiting before you. There are people waiting after. Like @KBA and @debbiedoo have both said, this is a waiting game that you cannot rush. They will get to you when they get to you. We all know that frustration and anguish, but you're really just stressing yourself out over something that is out of your control.

It will happen. Try to stay strong.

I know you cannot rush it, but look at what happened to KBA. Only after suing, they took a look at it and he got an RFE, 400 days after NOA1. You can wait and wait, but if you don't do something, you'll never know where you stand...

I was well aware of KBA's situation, as I was part of their thread. They were a June filer. I was July. I, too, felt like they were NEVER going to get to our application.

Processing
Estimates/Stats :

Your I-129f was approved in 217 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 260 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

217. That's a LONG time to wait. I watched people get approved who filed a month after me.

Your situation isn't special. Just wait. You're nowhere near freaking out time yet.

😁 That calms me down 😁, untill sept 26. Then I'll freak out again. I need to calm my man down too. He has it worse than I am and he feels responsible. He filed the papers and thinks he didn't take enough time to be busy with it.

I know it's hard. It really is. It's a game of waiting and seeing people you talk to get approved. I would sit at my desk at work and cry when people who filed after me posted on our month thread that they got their approval. I had to go back on antidepressants because I was just a wreck.

For what it's worth, it said that I was supposed to get approved at the start of January. We didn't get ours until Feb. That thing is just an estimate, and at best it's only accurate by luck because a lot of people don't come back to fill out their timelines.

Do you have the email and text notifications set up on your USCIS account?

Yes, we have. I hope we'll hope something soon. Just like all the rest of the people in waiting line...

I think first thing they do is to scan your petition and to cash the check. I doubt they would notify you if they lost all papers, most likely they would work on the scan and print a new set of your papers for internal use. Anyhow, you have to submit original documents to the embassy so they can work on scan as long as the check was cashed...

Doubt they lost it. Worst case is they misplace an item or something and RFE you for it; but losing the whole packet? Unlikely. You may just have gotten unlucky to get with someone who took a vacation.

Archivamos nuestros documentos en enero de 2018 y obtuvimos el NOA1 el 29 de enero. Mucha gente de la misma fecha ya recibió su NOA2, RFE e incluso toda la aprobación. No tenemos nada, simplemente nada.

My husband to be send in an inquiry but we are afraid they'll just say: we are processing...

Wouldn’t you rather hear something rather than hearing nothing?  Inquiring may get the ball rolling. It seemed to work for us after inquiring twice about EAD. It certainly will not hurt.

Perhaps a little too much information here?  IMO, 9 months from start to finish isn’t that extreme. I recommend OP have fiancé call and inquire.

They're just over 230 days. It's not that extreme.

Also, if you think me sharing that I was distraught and went back on antidepressants is oversharing, clearly you've not encountered a lot of posts here where people post HIGHLY private personal information to get help or help others. Get a grip.

We waited 294 days for NOA2 and that was without any RFEs, and our case was straightforward. As everyone else has said already, highly doubtful they lost your petition. Try to keep yourself calm, because this process sucks for everyone. Once you've hit the out of normal processing times, file an inquiry with USCIS. Chances are you will get a generic answer like most of us did like still processing or on hold pending security checks. After that you can go to your local congressman and ask them to make a congressional inquiry. Not sure how useful it will be...we asked ours for one but got the approval before we even knew if they did anything or not. If all else fails and you find yourself 60 days past normal processing, you can contact the Ombudsman for help. Honestly, if you are a genuine couple and did your due diligence when you filled out the paperwork, you will be fine. I of all people know how hard waiting was, so I know it's easier said than done to be patient but at this point it really isn't in your hands.
